UK JERSEYS ALL BRITAINS 2015

2015 saw us with limited prescence in the show ring, but we are delighted that three Bluegrass bred animals featured in the All Britain nominations for their new owners, congratulations to the Mclean family who secured a nomination for Bluegrass Bobs Jane Russell in the Junior Cow in Milk, to the Fleming Family, K Agnew and J Henning who were Reserve All Britain with Bluegrass Vindications Harp in the Senior Heifer in Milk and to the Wilsons who won Senior Cow in Milk and a fourth All Britain title with Bluegrass Excitations Prissy Polly, Prissy Polly has been undefeated in milk in the All Britains! She is dam of Yegabomb available from Cogent !

The Royal Welsh Jersey Champion, Bluegrass Excitation Prissy Polly owned by Tregibby Jerseys (Wilsons) went Ex 2nd calver recently making her Bluegrass' 12th Ex 2nd calver, so congratulations to the Wilson Family!

2013 Livestock Show Results
The 2013 Livestock Show at the NEC on Wednesday 3rd July brought more silverware for Bluegrass Jerseys.
We won all three Jersey classes, with the Championship being awarded to the VG89 heifer

Reserve was the 2nd calver

and then the show got even better on the Thursday with Blonde being awarded the Interbreed heifer championship, she is now at the Great Yorkshire show for owners Tom and Any Cope and Issac Lancaster.

2013 Norfolk Show Success
Claire had a triumphant trip to the Royal Norfolk on 26th June when her VG89-3yr old Bluerock Majors Roxy Rose who calved in October 2012 was 1st place Junior Cow in Milk and went on to be Jersey Champion.

UK JERSEYS NATIONAL SUPREME CHAMPIONS
The biannually run award which recognises the top Jersey herd for production and type has been won three times by the Bluegrass herd in 2004, 2006 and 2008. We did not enter in 2010 since when the competition hasn't been run.

GENUS LONG LIFE COW OF THE YEAR 2012
Winner of the 2012 Jersey Long Life Cow of the Year was Bluegrass Duckworths Maiden EX95-7E

She has completed 12 lactations with a lifetime yield of over 74 tonnes. Bred from an EX90 dam and with two VG daughters already she epitomises longevity in the Jersey breed.

UK FIRST
In 2010 Bluegrass Jerseys was the first herd of ANY breed to have bred 10 EX 2nd calvers, with the addition of Bluegrass Charlies Happiest (now EX93-2E) this tally has risen to 11.
